Transferring a firearm using 7 SIGMA ARMS is very easy. The seller you purchase the firearm(s) from is going to need a copy of our FFL in order to ship to us. Upon request, we can e-mail them a copy of it, or you can send it to them via the link above. The seller will then ship the firearm to us. Along with the shipment, the seller must include a copy of their FFL (their full FFL number on an invoice is also acceptable) or a copy of their driver’s license/State ID if they are not an FFL. We can not check the firearm into our books unless we have this information.

If we have not processed a transfer for you in the past, please send us an email letting us know that you have something on the way and include a picture of your FOID card. [email protected]
It’s always a good idea to give us a heads up that something is on the way since some shippers do not include the buyer’s name with the shipment.

Once the firearm has arrived and been processed into our books we will contact you via email to schedule an appointment. Pickup is by appointment only. When you visit, here is the process:

1. Bring a copy of your valid FOID card. If the address on your FOID card is not your current address you will need to present an ID that does have your current address (driver’s license or state ID)

2. Fill out the Federal Form 4473. This is done electronically on a computer here. Do not bring your own prefilled form as it is against BATF rules.

3. Once the 4473 has been reviewed and approved by us, we will run the background check. Once the background check clears, you pay the transfer fee and receive your firearm. 30-40% of background checks do not get instantly approved and receive a delay which usually takes the state 2-3 business days to clear. This means there’s a 30-40% chance you will have to come back at a later date. No additional fees apply in this scenario.

Illinois State Police 72 Hour Mandatory Waiting Period:
It has been brought to our attention that some FFL’s require the transferee to fill out the 4473 form and return after 72 hours to complete the transaction.
This is a common misconception in the industry. The 72 hours starts when the buyer and seller agree on the transaction terms and price, not when the buyer fills out form 4473 and the background check clears. 72 hours are usually long gone by the time we receive the shipment from the seller. There are enough laws/rules already. We don’t need to make up any more.

TRANSFERS WILL BE HELD FOR 90 DAYS UNLESS A LONGER TIME IS APPROVED IN WRITING. ANY FIREARM LEFT AFTER 90 DAYS WILL BECOME OUR PROPERTY AND WILL BE SOLD OR DESTROYED.
